In his January 2023 message to the university community, President Ono announced a new set of values being adopted by the university.

President Ono on the U-M Workplace Values:

Demonstrating these values is important as we pursue excellence and carry out the university’s mission. The university’s mission is to serve the people of Michigan and the world through preeminence in creating, communicating, preserving and applying knowledge, art, and academic values, and in developing leaders and citizens who will challenge the present and enrich the future. Underpinning all of the values is accountability.

The values toolkit is designed for individuals, leaders and teams to learn more about the core values and provides resources to support putting these values into action. Individuals can also participate in the values challenge to earn free Culture Journey swag.
